Tidewash Privacy Policy
Tidewash (浪淘沙, なみのしわざ) is a pixel-art game for iPhone in which you play the sea. It is built so that your game stays on your iPhone.
The short version
- We do not collect any data. On the App Store, Tidewash’s privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
- There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking and no third-party SDK.
- Tidewash has no server of its own. The only network service it uses is Apple’s Game Center, and Game Center is optional.
- It does not use your location, camera, microphone or contacts. Moonlight Beach works out tonight’s moon from your iPhone’s date, on the device.
Data stored on your device
- Game progress: beaches, shells, upgrades, your collection and best times.
- Settings: sound and volume levels, haptics, language and the other options in Settings.
- Words you write in the sand in Calm Sea are not sent anywhere.
This data is kept in a file inside the app on your iPhone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete Tidewash, iOS deletes this file, and your progress with it. Tidewash 1.0 does not use iCloud. As with any app, your iPhone’s own backups (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer) may include the app’s data; those backups are handled by Apple, and we never see them.
Game Center
Achievements and leaderboards use Apple’s Game Center. Game Center is optional, and Tidewash never asks you to sign in on its own. If you are signed in, iOS sends your achievements and timed results to Apple. Game Center is provided and processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; see Game Center & Privacy. Tidewash does not show or store your Game Center player ID or account details; result cards show only your rank. As in every game that uses Game Center, leaderboard entries are visible to other players. You can manage your Game Center profile in the iPhone Settings app.
Photos
After you take a photo of the beach, you can share it with Share This Moment. If you choose Save Image in the share sheet, iOS asks for permission to add photos to your library. This permission is add-only: Tidewash can save the picture, but it cannot see, read or change anything in your photo library. If you share the picture to another app, that app’s own policy applies.
Purchases
Tidewash is a paid app with no in-app purchases. You buy it on the App Store, and payment is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Tidewash may show Apple’s standard prompt to rate the app; if you rate it, iOS sends the rating to Apple.
Children
Tidewash is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
